Ice Cream
 

 
What started out as such a dream, 
a chocolate-chip-two-scoop-ice-cream, 
has gone all wrong, I must confess, 
and turned into an awful mess. 
I ordered it to meet my wish, 
two scoops, no toppings, in a dish. 
I really didn't want a topping, 
 

especially not this sea gull dropping.

Robert Pottle grew up in Eastport, Maine. He started writing poems to share with his first grade students. As a teacher he saw a need for poetry that spoke to children in rural Maine. He now lives in Eastbrook, Maine with his wife, son, and two llamas.


Jonathan Siruno isn't a true Mainer. He was born in Warren, Michigan in 1977 and moved to Aroostook County at the tender age of six. To help fit in, Jon took up copying comic strips and cartoons. When he was 15, his real desire to do art hit while attending a summer art program at Pratt University. He furthered his education at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he majored in Sequential Art - drawing funnybooks in lay terms. He has worked on several graphic novel anthologies. Jon now lives in Massachusetts.
