Another poem from the book MOXIE DAY and Family!

Funny Time

Went up to the rooftop. I brought the kitchen clock,
wound up like a pitcher, and threw it 'cross the block.
Then I giggled, snickered, laughed, with Mama's watch in hand.
I threw her watch so forcefully, I bet it didn't land.
My mother doesn't seem to laugh. I don't know why she cries.
I heard her say just yesterday, "It's funny how time flies."
