We parked at the Jordan Pond parking lot. Looking toward Penobscot Mountain from the road you could see wonderful cliffs glistening with ice. We got on our wind gear just before leaving the tree line. We decided not to take this trail.This would have been a shorter route down. But I&#8217;m familiar with that trail, I know there were a few places that could be sketchy in the winter depending on conditions. The icicles dripping off the rocks and cliffs along the road were so beautiful. A hiker had turned around on the trail after coming to a bad section. It measured 5.25 miles before dying.
