The bindings can be used with your regular boots. The straps fasten down with a ratchet-like motion. After following the snowmobile trail for awhile, we headed onto an old, unplowed dirt road that was overgrown in spots with vegetation. The road was covered with a few inches of powder topped with a very thin icy crust. The skis worked really well in this untouched snow.

The Snowmobile Trail

We also went ski bushwhacking. Being out at night was a calming and beautiful experience. The snow was sparkling like magic pixie dust was sprinkled all over it. There was a stillness to everything and a heavy quiet, when we stopped moving.

Looking Back on Our Tracks Through the Snow

We saw rabbit tracks, mouse tracks, and deer tracks.
